The second programme, ‘To the last Drop’, the focus shifts to the Middle East where water inevitably raises the stakes within every regional dispute or settlement. The final programme, ‘The Giver of Life’, highlights the Islamic heartland of the former CIS where the implications
of the Aral sea’s demise are viewed as a catastrophe on a Chernobyl scale.
