One of the world’s top 200 sites for the diversity of marine species, the Sulu-Sulawesi sea is home to turtles, marine mammals, vast coral reefs and nearly 2000 species of fish. As the most important fish spawning ground in the Asia-Pacific region, the area also provides a livelihood for fishing communities in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. This programme investigates how a unique marine environment is standing up to the pressures imposed by the people living on its shores.
