As conflicts between elephants and humans increase over ever scarcer land, an elephant orphanage in the rural North provides much needed sanctuary. In the forests ancient Veddhic tribes claim their ancestral rights and we see their fight to resist removal from the newly created National Park. Meanwhile, on the coast Sri Lanka’s reefs are taking a battering and if the mining continues there could be none left by the year 2000.
