The film starts in the United States where a
fraction of the world’s population contributes
a quarter of the greenhouse gasses. Climate
Change is already having a devastating impact on the poor, but the majority of Americans accustomed to cheap energy appear to care little about global warming.

The world’s nations emerged from Kyoto with
an agreement by the industrialised nations
designed to stabilise and then reduce greenhouse gases. At the Bonn meeting of 161 governments we find that little progress has been made, especially in the United States where there is no sign that its mighty 25 per cent share of the world’s energy use is likely to be reduced.
